LeBron Files Paperwork To Change Number From 23 to 6; Says It’s In Deference To Jordan

Posted by MarcMEGA Under Uncategorized 4 Comments » |

LeBron James is serious about honoring Michael Jordan’s No. 23 after all. James hit Wednesday’s deadline to apply to the NBA to change his uniform number from 23 to 6, according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

“I’ve done it,” James told the paper. “I already sent it in. I’m going to be No. 6.”

James first floated the idea in November, saying he wanted to switch from 23 out of respect for Jordan. James would want to wear 6, the number he wore while leading the U.S. to Olympic gold in Beijing in 2008.

The last big-name player to change numbers without changing teams was Kobe Bryant, who switched from 8 to 24 in 2006. Kobe’s new jersey quickly became the league’s top seller.

LeBron is a business man. It makes good business sense to change his number. He will make MEGA $. And I don’t see nothing wrong with that!

Lastly, if he want to honor MJ, good for him. Jordan is my favorite player of all time….. for now. James is bigger, better, stringer and faster. It’s just a matter of time before the old king is dethroned.

Check out this video…you decide.

Looks like Lebrons Numbers are better than Jordans and when he wins a championship this year then he is on pace with Michael Jordan in that catagory.

Real Talk!

Tomlinson’s Crying after cut by San Diego

What is the world coming to? When I saw this, all I could think was “I believe this cat is crying like a little girl”.  I understand that he wears his emotions on his sleeve, but it kills me to see a grown man cry over getting cut from a football team. I could see if you lost a “Big Game”, but you got cut…..Come on man, pick up the pieces, look for a new team, and keep it moving. Call me insensitive, but remember, your setting an example for young athletes everywhere.

Warner, 2-time MVP, hangs up jersey

Kurt Warner Retires

On Jan. 29, Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner ended one of the great storybook careers in NFL history.

TEMPE, Ariz. — Kurt Warner thanked God, hugged his children and wife and said goodbye to an NFL career that seems the stuff of sports fiction.

The 38-year-old quarterback announced his retirement Friday after a dozen years in a league that at first rejected him, then revered him as he came from nowhere to lead the lowly St. Louis Rams to two Super Bowls.

Then, as if going from stocking groceries to winning NFL MVP awards wasn’t improbable enough, Warner was written off as a has-been and rose again to lead the long-suffering Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl.

A man of deep faith who carried a Bible to each post-game news conference, Warner walked away with a year left on a two-year, $23 million contract, knowing he still had the skills to play at the highest level.

“It’s been an amazing ride,” Warner said. “I don’t think I could have dreamt it would have played out like it has, but I’ve been humbled every day that I woke up the last 12 years and amazed that God would choose to use me to do what he’s given me the opportunity to do.”
